"Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house?"
— Isaiah 58:7
Rooted in the Christian principles of service, compassion, and evangelism, Bethel Mar Thoma Syrian Church carries forward its mission of spiritual nurture, charitable service, and active participation in the witness of the Church — responding to the spiritual and social needs of contemporary society.
As part of its Silver Jubilee (2015–2016), the parish established two enduring charitable schemes: Bethel Sanjivani, a medical aid scheme, and Bethel Jyoti, an educational aid scheme — both inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Joseph Mar Barnabas Episcopa.
Through every act of service — from a medical grant to a scholarship — these initiatives are the living expression of Christ's compassion, guided always by the call to love our neighbour as ourselves.
Each initiative is rooted in the church's calling to embody compassion, solidarity, and justice in everyday life.
Established during the parish Silver Jubilee, Bethel Sanjivani extends the healing compassion of Christ to those facing medical hardship — offering support with dignity and care.
Bethel Jyoti channels resources towards education — opening doors of opportunity to deserving students whose circumstances place learning out of reach.
Share your bread with the hungry, bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, cover him.— Isaiah 58:7
