"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it"
— Proverbs 22:6
The Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam began its journey in 1905, with a clear mission aligned with the objectives of the Mar Thoma Church — nurturing children to become witnesses for Christ, fostering a personal connection with God, and shaping them into future leaders of the Church.
Within the Sunday School, children are introduced to the dynamics of belonging to God's family — receiving Bible teachings, learning to navigate relationships within the community of believers, and being encouraged to explore, cultivate, and use their spiritual gifts and talents.
The Sunday School of Bethel Mar Thoma Syrian Church continues to play a significant role in the spiritual formation of the younger members of the parish. Classes ranging from Nursery to Young Adults are conducted every Sunday following the Holy Qurbana, blessed by the active participation of more than 55 students and the dedicated service of 11 teachers.
Every session is designed to help children encounter God, grow in community, and discover their calling.
Children receive systematic, age-appropriate teachings from Scripture — building a foundation of faith that guides them through every stage of life.
Sunday School is where children learn to belong — to God's family and to one another. Friendships forged here often last a lifetime.
We encourage every child to discover and use their God-given talents — through worship, drama, art, and service — shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
The primary aim of the Samajam has always been to nurture children who are bold and joyful witnesses for Jesus Christ in their schools and communities.
Children are taught the discipline and joy of prayer from an early age — learning to bring every need, thanksgiving, and praise before God.
Sunday School connects children to the wider life of the parish — creating a seamless journey of faith from childhood through adulthood within the Mar Thoma Church.
Sunday School is an integral part of our weekly worship schedule at Bethel Mar Thoma Syrian Church. All children are warmly welcome.
Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.— Matthew 19:14
